Tamila has already been my tutor for nearly a year. She is a flexible teacher, and it's always been easy to schedule lessons with her. Although I starting learning Ukrainian before working with Tamila, it wasn't until I began lessons with her that I saw myself truly progress. Tamila has created wonderful online resources, and my online lessons with her are more productive and useful than any in-person lesson I've ever had (in any language). For example, I start each Ukrainian lesson talking about my week for about 10/15 minutes. She will listen closely and ask me questions about what I say to push me to go more in depth. Without fail she picks up my errors and corrects them gently but firmly. These errors can be regarding grammar, pronunciation, or word choice. She helps with them all! After I finish speaking, we review what she wrote on the document together to make sure I understand where I went wrong. Starting lessons in this way has been incredibly helpful. After this "warmup," we spend the rest of the lesson focusing on grammar, pronunciation, speaking, and/or reading comprehension. She is willing to tailor lessons to the particular interests of students, but... Read more

I can't recommend Tamila enough. Я її люблю! (I love her!)... Collapse

I love lessons with Tamila! She always comes prepared with a wealth of materials that are suitable for me, and we also have a lot of fun just chatting about our lives in Ukrainian. Sometimes we watch Ukrainian cartoons together by way of YouTube, and I love learning vocabulary from these little videos. Tamila also knows that I enjoy learning Ukrainian language and culture through songs, and has introduced me to a lot of great, modern Ukrainian music that I probably would not otherwise have found. We examine the lyrics and meaning behind various Ukrainian songs, and after the lessons I can go back and listen again and again to the music videos on YouTube. It's a wonderful way to learn and Tamila is a fantastic teacher!

Hello! My name is Rachel Lods and I am a Peace Corps Volunteer who is currently serving in Ukraine. In order to successfully serve and connect with members of my community, I have been taking online Ukrainian language lessons with Tamila since October of 2018. Every lesson I have had with Tamila has helped me to improve my understanding and fluency in the language, and I am better able to communicate with friends neighbors and colleagues after each skype session. Taking lessons via skype has not slowed my progress and I could not be more satisfied with the way she finds new and interesting ways to conduct our lessons. I strongly encourage anyone interested in studying the Ukrainian, or Russian language to reach out to Tamila by visiting her website- http://tamila-language-tutor.com

I have been taking weekly online lessons from Tamila for over three years. You could not ask for a better Russian (or Ukrainian) language tutor than Tamila. She goes out of her way to prepare thoughtful, detailed lessons geared to my level and interests. She is patient and helpful at all times. I have studied with other Russian tutors, and no one has helped me develop my Russian language skills like Tamila has. Very highly recommended!

Tamila is an an excellent and extremely experienced teacher, who creates engaging lessons suited to your skill level. She clearly explains the exasperating mechanics of Slavic grammar, expands your vocabulary, and helps you navigate the tricky pronunciation of the Russian language. Since working with Tamila for several months, my Russian has improved immensely due to her tireless dedication, patience and mastery of teaching techniques. She's flexible not only in terms of scheduling but also in regards to the content of the lesson. After my incredibly rewarding experience with her, I cannot recommend her enough. (Also, don't let the online aspect scare you! I've come to prefer the convenience of online tutoring sessions.)

Tamila is a great tutor. She started teaching me Ukrainian and the we moved on to Russian. We went from learning simple words, to deconstructing very complicated grammatical rules. There is no obstacle for her when teaching language and her experience working with foreigners speaks for itself during her lessons. Thanks you for your patience and effort!

Like me, you are likely acutely aware that one of the biggest hurdles to effective language learning is finding the right teacher. I am grateful to have found Tamila. My Russian language abilities have been progressing successfully and satisfactorily as a result of taking Skype lessons with her over the past year. Tamila prepares lessons targeted at my learning goals and conducts them according to modern teaching methods. She is extremely flexible and allots ample time for engaging activities and responding to questions as they arise. Beyond being a great teacher, Tamila is a kind, interesting, and engaging person. I recommend her to anyone intent on improving language skills through fun, interesting, and effective conversation in Russian or Ukrainian. Thank you for all of your time, hard work, and positive energy, Tamila!
